My thoughts on assaulting fortified enemy positions... Cannon fodder is also musket fodder! Send in your most cheap units to go in and try to draw out the enemy, where you can cut them apart. If that does not work, simply fix bayonets and hope for the best! I hate a step-by-step program, or whatever you may call it: 1) Break their formation with cannon fire. 2) If you can't do that, cut them apart with rifle fire. 3) If you can't do that, try to draw them out with your weaker units. 3) If you can't do THAT, use the fact that you have the entire map to move around on to your advantage. Then try to attack in the most ferocious way possible My thoughts on defending in a situation like that... Don't. Never have your men back up into a corner, it makes it easier to retreat. Have them up front as a forward defense instead; the enemy knows that you should never attack a desperate enemy. Just my 2 cents. S! El Matador
