Hey all, Just wanted to solicite some thoughts... with the new expansion, I plan to require General units for every player from now on; I think they simply A) add character B) Prevent accidental General killing, and C) make it LOOK nice (which, to a collector of toy soldiers my whole life, MATTERS! What does everyone else think? You all assuming that should be done? Also, what do people say about hunting enemy Generals when general units? Are they fair game if you can get them to them in close combat or with muskets? Personally I feel they SHOULD be: it shouldnt be the opposing generals responsibility to NOT attack a weak spot; it should be the generals own responsibility to keep his general safe! Adding a nerve center to an army is a GOOD thing, strategy wise, because it creates an entire need to protect the rear of ones army and be smart about how you break up your force, which was true in real life! Gents?

I think generals should not be engaged, for no other reason than it makes fighting exclusively about who can abolish the opposing general - all too easily done.
Given that a good portion of the total "game-time" is waiting for games to be hosted, initial set-up, loading (and so forth) rather than actual fighting, it seems a shame to encourage anything that might shorten the actual combat!
I agree absolutely that generals should be de-rigeur (to employ a froggie phrase).

I completely agree about the general unit.
I'll suggest it to BnI our main KHD hoster.

Worth pointing out that merely selecting a general does not make him de facto your actual general in game.
Best idea is to make selecting the general your very first unit choice, which will automatically make him the general as far as the game is concerned....

An army needs a general. Only the most debased of savages would target a general purposefully.
