Yupp look at this thread and the links to screenies: forum.thelordz.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=5187&highlight=Set in the years 1080-1530 so it will contain muskets and cannon (see screenies) and even America it seems. Let's hope it easier to mod to Nap times than RTW... [GG]LvD

Got to admit I was dissapointed with this. I think it is a mistake also and sales will not be as good as expected which may put them off doing another.
Yes I realise it will be better than mtw and bigger etc, but it is still around the same era.
Are they shying away from the musket era because the Lordz are doing NTW2 ?

Yes, yes they are we have scared off the big business game makers. ;D I do not know; who can ever know the minds of others even when they speak the truth? I think its a combination of many factors all leading down to one core issue. They wanted to use the ROME engine again, modified a little bit here and there. CA needed to stick with what they knew, no "advanced" gunpowdered weapons and certainly the key element of cold steel to make war. They also wanted to please the masses, incorparating many mod ideas out there into the ROME engine. There's several mods in RTW that try to recreate MTW or an era close to it, and the MTW:VI community is going strong as it ever was. Not as flashy as ROMe perhaps but its is still thriving. Finally there are already a few Nap era games out there, so they do not wnat to compete with that market. it was a dissipointment to many a gamer out there so I think they may be steering clear of any upsets with a Nap era game or anything modern. What it boils down to is what will sell. They know what their core audience is, what they like and what they would rather do without. CA has been doing the the TW series for some time now and are able to test the waters accurately enough to know what the masses will buy. I'm looking forward to it and keeping my head up. I liked MTW afterall, so perhaps this new version shall not be all that bad.

I'm glad they made the decision to go back to the mtw. It's exactly what i hoped they do after rome. Just hope they add something innovated into the game.

Well they have added America (at least South America) and Aztecs, so that's new. And there will be gun powder units like in MTW so it should be easier to mod to NTW. ;D

wHY Oh WHY DO PROGRAMMERS STILL FEAR THEM>? uNITIL somebody does a decent sim where both land and sea action is combined, and not part of a different program like imperialbooby which is a a crappy mishmash of stereo types, I'll continue to be dissappointed. (HHHHHHH- out of breath after that tirade) Good morning gents.

I agree somewhat there. Sea is a big part of warfare and to our island the most important I can't understand why they shy away from it. They could do a top down view to make it easier and have more control over it anything so long as it has playability. As far as CA goes I'd love to know what era they will be doing next after mtw2, ECW would be nice.
