Ashram, this is where you will meet the a sad little reality that tends to go by the name of disappointment .

I have not played NTW in a good while, and I know nothing of true tactics, often firing my cannons at the enemy General and then doing a blind and ruthless bayonet charge at the enemy. I hire often hire standard Jaeger infantry and minimal cavalry. I'm a big fan of artillery. My commanding skills go like this:

Pros : Quick to make a decision, never hesitate. I know that an assault at the right moment can turn the tide of the battle, so I'm always good when under pressure. I've been playing NTW since last march.

Cons : I'm never on the defensive, and sometimes temptations get to me causing me to do "last-ditch assaults" when they aren't really neccessary .
Another con is that I have never played online yet, but I hope to give it a try soon enough.

So tell me, am I worthy of being a Grenadier Guard? If there are any more questions, feel free to ask!

I believe the next step after you posting your interest is for [GG] Irish_Brigadier and [GG] ThinRedLine to email you and introduce themselves and discuss you officially becoming a probationary Grenadier Guard (i.e. a [gg])... if you get to know the guys, and prove yourself a valuable teammate on the field and off, you eventually may join the ranks of the [GG]s.

Keep in mind this is a rather active clan, including by running campaigns, planning inter-clan contests, as beta testers for NTW2, as strategy developers, and by providing help where we can to the newer NTW players. The more you can offer, be it in strategical thinking, guiding newbies, starting conversation, or envisioning changes, the better things will go!

you will only get better on ntw MP, though I will warn that you may have problems at first....because you gotta realize is...human players are much better than the AI in NTW SP...however it seems some human players arent even as good as the AI lol

Hey everyone, I'm brand new to NTW, but not online gaming. I played Medieval and Rome extensively, and still play Rome occasionally, although I've NEVER tried online play. However, as I consistently whomp on the A.I., I may be forced to give the online arena a try. This weekend I'm going to try Gamespy and see how hard I get kicked around. I just thought I'd introduce myself to the GGs, as I've been checking out the forum for about a week now and it seems like there's a really good group of people here. I'm hoping to cut my teeth this weekend and maybe give the campaign a try if I'm allowed the opportunity (I would understand if you want more experienced online NTWers to do the campaign, as I would no doubt be mercilessly slaughtered.)

Granted, it might be a little early in my NTW career to begin posting here, but it's a great game, even if I've only just started playing it. So far I've played the Prussians and I've taken over much of northern europe and all of Great Britain in the sp campaign. I'm quite enamored of the 8 pounders, as they are just beats against enemy infantry. I think I'm going to try the British after I tire of the Prussians...

Some small insignificant details about myself:

Favorite games: TW series (Shogun, Medieval, then Rome, and now NTW [it's almost it's own game]), Counterstrike (I've played CS for four years so I'm no stranger to online gaming, just online TW), Day of Defeat, Sims 2, System Shock 2, Civ 3, Final Fantasy Tactics, Morrowind, too many more to list...
Play style: I'm a very defensive player in TW, in Rome I liked the Greeks and Seleucids because of the insane defensive capabilities of the phalanxes, but I enjoy a good cavalry charge to the flanks as much as the next guy...

That's about it for now. I really should be listening to my professor, but this class is so boring. I look forward to possibly playing some of you in the coming weeks. Thanks for putting together a quality fansite and I will visit and post often. Ciao!

Im a Veteran NTW Player, Been playing sice Version 3. I've also been very active with Occasional Leaves The Record that I have sportsmanship isn't very respectable, But I belive that is no longer with me.

ive played 1-2 MP battles, i usually play as The Dutch or English

I'm not all that good so i need some help also thanks to a un-removable firewall sometimes i can't even see games.

at this time im also part of a Battlegrounds clan called The Royal Recruits which is for a half-life mod based on the American revolution might be interesting for you guys.

My strategies pretty much involve real napoleonic tactics. my favorite is pulling of a Echelon left to right for a quick wipeout if it works

My favorite units are:Green jackets British Grenadiers KGL's line infantry (reliable)

i don't like Artillery that much in MP, its fun in SP where the AI will somehow get Jaegers and other highly advanced units before me and Artillery evens the odds.
