Hello gentlemen I'll be dropping Ashram an e-mail tonight about getting a copy of the AWI .5 beta. I'm new to your forums, having come here from a link over at the Lordz. I've been a wargamer all my life (currently aged 45), starting with 'real' rules around the age of 12 and playing all periods of miniatures until a few years ago when a family came along and I sold my collection However now I game on the PC - takes up no space, costs less and I don't get Humbrol enamels on my carpet anymore... I've been reading your forums about your online NTW campaigns and they sound great. I've organised online campaigns before for the Sea Lords using Age of Sail II so I feel Ashram's pain regarding putting in lots of work to set up and run an online camapign only to have it fail for one reason or another. These reasons are always valid and Real Life (tm) is irritatingly intrusive into our wargame campaigns isn't it? But the main reason for this post is: are there any plans for an online campaign using the AWI mod? And if there are might I get involved with the Hessian contingent? I'd also like some info on what tools you guys use to meet up online and what chat software etc you use. I'm in the UK, based in the midlands and generally can game several nights a week between 9pm and midnight, so if you need a player, I'm game. Cheers all Martin

HI!! If you want to play NTW or AWI online I suggest getting MSN Messenger...all of us use it to chat/make friends with people in the ntw/awi community we also use it to organize games to play heres my msn address: FlippyXtrem@hotmail.com message me friend! so perhaps we can play a game or two now for voice communication some of us use a program called: Skype I like it but it laggs really bad in bigger games at times..but its great to have an easy convo with somebody in a smaller game as far as campaigns go...i think a AWI is quite possible but i think the GG's are way to busy with the TIG campaign going on and making the next version of AWI also other GG's are busy helping the Lordz with NTW and NTW2 e.g. beta testing However I can definetly see in the near future a fast early American Revolution Campaign starting with Lexington to Breeds Hill...small campaign but a start and more convienient for a busy group of guys Cheers

Thanks guys, I'll get msn working and get in touch. For voice comms in MP in the past I've used Teamspeak although for it to work well you need a server. This allows multiple channels to be set up for use by teams, umpires, whatever. Then players can switch between channels so a high command team can communicate with a lower level command team, etc. Anyone used it?

Yeah on occasion we use teamspeak. I can run a server whenever I play, but since it need a little more preparation then Skype people tend to want to use Skype. Sadly Skype can lag the sh*t out of my games sometimes, so I'd prefer more TS use. [GG]vD
