Hey all! This is where we will be discussing the game I've been making with my old college roommate, a dungeon hack called Dungeoncrawler! DungeonCrawler is a game that we have made that originally began as an engine idea to build games on. The first game "skin" that we made was a Tolkien themed one, but we have others planned, including a Napoleonic skirmish game and a space combat game at least! DC was largely inspired by the old NetHack type of game, where the key is gameplay and not necessarily the shiniest new graphics... we have found that some of the best, most memorable games didn't have the most mind-blowing graphics! But we are working hard to make sure the game is FUN, and we hope that it is. At the moment DungeonCrawler is still in a VERY early stage. There are many bugs and flaws, and a lot left to do, but we really wanted to get it out there and get some suggestions and such from people... it is very neat, and represent hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of hours of work, so we wanted to share! So please; download the game from this link; ntwgg.proboards26.com/index.cgi?board=dungeoncrawler&action=display&thread=1067for free, of course, and enjoy! Our only requirement; share your thoughts and experiences, and, of course, your best stories! Someday I'll tell the one about Proscuitto the Warrior, the three hobbit gardeners, and the piece of cheese... I'll post up more soon; we'll have the latest version posted here later today. Everyone please feel free to download it and play around with it! Thanks:)

Just wanted to come by and say thanks; your game is pretty cool! This Tolkien fiend played it for hours this last weekend! Unfortunately I died a few times, which stunk (please add a save game feature?) but still, great job! Any news when the next version will be available?

Hi Darth,
It's awesome to hear that you enjoyed the game! Thanks for playing. I think we are really close to being ready to release an update with a bunch of cool new features and some bug fixes. I'll have to coordinate with ash, but it should be soon.
As for dying and save mode, the game is currently designed to be a lot like nethack, where when you die, that's it. But we've had other requests for the option to save at any time, so maybe it's time we considered adding it. What do other people think?
anyway, thanks again for playing and for the feedback! we'll update soon.
Love,
the DungeonCrawler team
