Well if we're talking MP the Danes, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese all have the same units except that the Portuguese have their excellent Cacadores, so the other 3 suck more.  I vote for my poor Swedes.  Crappy line, no heavy cav except Saxon cuirassiers, and a veeery poor unit cost ratio. [GG]vD |

Well the Ottomans actually have pretty nice line inf and rifles. Thier guards and especially their cav are not quite as good though - to say the least. And they (the Ottomans) cost a lot too. [GG]vD |

Their line infantry have good stats and the Raya have rifles and good stats. However thier guards are weak and their cavalry too (decent light cav but no match for heavier opponents), and they have no access to the mercs in MP. The line inf and Raya are pretty good valour for the money but to get the guards up to a decent statndard they need to be at least 1-2 valour more than the opponents guards/grenadiers and that is expensive!

I dont think the ottomans are really that good...they only have one unit with rifles...and thats considered there light infantry...there line infantry aint all that...in hand to hand combat they will get smoked up pretty bad...

Well the Ottoman line have melee+defence (3+2) = 5 (so do the raya) which is better than any other line in the game except Prussian which also have melee+defence (2+3) = 5, and their honour level is the same as e.g. French and English line. Their main drawback is a low charge bonus. I'd still say Ottoman line inf are pretty good, but then that's just me...

ya but you can only buy so many of them...without stupid buying increase dizzo personally from my experience on the field...I have never lost to a Ottoman army while attack or defending...maybe its just me that there bad...or perhaps they are a good faction...but I also guess im just that good lol ;D Cheers |

As you say Flippy the Ottomans are hampered by the buying limitations and high costs for their other units to be decent. I am not arguing that the Ottomans are a weak faction in MP only that they actually have pretty good line inf and light inf/rifles, but nothing more. [GG]vD |
