Possible Campaign after EA and Peninsular

I know we are all looking forward to the great Eastern Alliance campaign and right after that I'm sure TRL will launch his Peninsular campaign, and I am confident both will be awesome. I just want to announce that I myself have just started planning yet another campaign on a slightly smaller scale - The Finnish War 1808-1809. As many of you may know in this war Russia invaded Finland, which then had belonged to Sweden for 800 years, and eventually beat the Swedes/Finns and made Finland a part of Russia effectivley robbing Sweden of 1/3 of it's territory and about 1/4 of it's population (if memory serves me correctly). The fighting in this war was on a much smaller scale than in the conflicts raging in Europe at the time, the battles were usually fought with 1000-10000 on each side. The Swedes heavily relied on "the Small War" i.e. guerrilla type warfare to disrupt Russian supply lines and communications. Cavalry was sparingly used (sorry Flippy;))because of the many dense forests and rugged terrain and the artillery was predominantly small caliber and far from abundant. It is also worth noticing that about half the Swedish army was made up by Jaeger units.
My plans are not to make a historically correct campaign, even though some battles will be based on actual battles and some maps on the actual terrain, but the campaign will follow the general flow of the fighting.
I will include the major battles (some of which can actually be fought with the actual numbers of men in a 4v4 game!) but also some small scale skirmishes where each player will command maybe 3-8 units in wooded areas. Hopefully this will be a fun and interesting contrast to the large scale fighting we mostly do otherwise.

Sounds awesome! The Eastern Alliance campaign will see SOME games of that scale, depending on who is online when; if four French/Die Freie generals show up to fight a single Russian General, then those 4 generals will only get 4 units each!

Hello Chaps

After numerous hiddings from your fellow members I've finally plucked up the courage to venture into this den.... you see you have something that lies particularly close to my heart a "Peninsular Campaign" I 've read as much as I can about this on your site and understand it has finished and that now you are in the middle of recreating " The Eastern Alliance, 1816-1818 AD"
But is there anyway I can get hold of these Mods for my version of Nap War?
As I said before the Peninsular Campaign is one of my great loves, I even own an original set of Napiers History of the Peninsular War that I picked up in a second hand store in London, so getting this Mod would make my Nap War quite special too

Hey At, I was wondering how long till we saw you here!

The only patch and campaign that is actively set up right now is the Eastern Alliance; check out the campaign info forum for more on that. The other campaigns are currently in development, with no true set release dates or start dates given out to the public yet. The Penninsular (sp?) Campaign is currently being looked at as the next viable GG campaign; the only one that has been played already was The European War.

Are you gonna play in this campaign? I suggest you check it out; no obligation to play at any time, as all games are totally played on your own schedule!

I would be glad to help on the Campaign especially as participating on it is so free and easy.... I have been finding it hard to get online recently but if I'm on I would prefer it if the game had a sense of purpose......so the campaign sounds great.....that or tournanaments both sound good to me
So where do I go from here?
and which side is short on players? (Not that my limited skills will throw the balance of war in their direction )

Okay, check the Campaign Forums (they are near the bottom of the Forum page.) Check basically all of the stickied threads and you will start to get a clearer picture! Short of that, just chat to someone involved with the campaign on MSN and I am sure they can give you a quick outline:)
