It seems that its possible to do this by adding the "-ian" to your NTW shortcut and then while in game you may switch factions by pressing number keys; 1 through 0 and shift+1 through shift+0. The order is in the faction declaration in startpos files.
e.g. Rebel is 1 and Danes are 4, they wont be from 1 to 10 because its a mod
Will try it tonight to see if it works, but might be something fun to do after you have semi-conquered the world and Nap is hiding under a rock in Corsica to then switch to the french and lead them to glory.

I must be doing something wrong; where do you add it, and exactly what text do you add?

Your shortcut should look like this "C:\Program Files\NTW\Medieval_TW.EXE" -ian
And then when you have loaded te campaign simply press the shift key and start pressing the numbers o through 9, still trying to find out how to get past 9 though...lol
