Hello Gentlemen,
Wideblade has come up with what I think is a great idea for a short and very doable On-Line Campaign.
I have included his original post (in yellow) from the Lordz forum. Please let me know what you, the members of the GG think. I would like to try it.
From time to time i read posts here about online campaigns,they use to be interesting but very difficult to achieve.I think we could try some the simple way in a deep degree of abstraction.
A bunch of maps are selected ,basically soft sloped maps
The campaign is played at the command mod style.
The campaign is played at 5 maps,there is a starting hostilities map
and two maps at the rear of each team,the team that loses the first battle plays at the map directly at his rear and if he loses again he plays at his nther rear map if loses again he has lost the campaign.
Each team has assigned an amount of florins for the whole campaign{60000 per player=240000} but cant spend no more than 99000 per battle.Routed units ...and defeated ones can be regruped for next battles and it should be made by summing up the soldiers of the same kind alive up to complete a whole new unit,this could be done only if half or more of the unit soldiers has survived, if not, the unit is lost ,the new regruped units are implemented by cash as their price as value 0 unit{a grenadier v3 turns into a grenadier v0 after regruped}
A campaign master or a comitee of generals from both sides assign the cash for regruping units and post the amount of cash left for both sides.
The goal of the campaign is to make yur oponent retreat to his rear map ,the strategical aspect is about how to manage the amount of cash yur team gets.I think this is a very simple way of playing a campaign and that could work ,three battles per weekend or so could be played and the campaign map should be as easy as a grid for the 5 battle maps.
