Salute Gentlemen,
A couple of weeks ago Irish had brought up the idea of a team speak type of program for our clan called Skype.
I checked out their site a little bit and then went and purchased a good mic/headset for about $30.
Are we going to try this?
I know that many people are caught up in RTW to some extent, Irish and myself included, but I would like to get your feedback on Skype or a program that you think might be better, if I could.
Thank You.
S!

Absolutely!
It seems to me we need the capability to form one or two talking channels (depending on number of teams) that would be able to be done under a game without slowing nuts down and would be as cheap (*cough free*) as possible.
Honestly, I know nothing of this kind of thing, but we DEFINATELY need it, if for nothing else than listening to Irish's lovely accent;) I guess I can take a look at Skype, but count me in for whatever. One thing; am I missing something, or does Skype limit you to a max of four people talking at once?
Anyone else know much?
Ash

Ive been using voice chat type programs for clan gaming for years. While they arent nearly as necessary for a strategy game as much as say, a FPS shooter, I definitely think it woudl beniefit us and give us an advantage.
I have never used Skype, so I couldnt tell you how it is. The ones I have used for more than a couple months are Teamspeak - low bandwidth/cheap/free, but bad besides this. bad sound quality ventrillo - AWESOME 10/10, but you have to pay for sure roger wilco - simple, easy to use. not many features.

Gentlemen,
Flippy, Remi and I have used Skype in our last few games and it is pretty darned good. I do not have any programs to compare it to, so my opinion may not be the best. However, having a comm system that is free and allows allies to speak instead of type gives us a real and tangible edge.
Seems almost unfair...hehe
I suggest that we all downlaod it and install it and check it out then we might be more able to make comparisons to some of the better known programs that some of you have used before like Roger Wilco, etc.
Thanks,
S!

Gentlemen,
I have moved this topic from the Officer's club so that all of our members may discuss this issue and either make a decision about Skype or another, better system.
If you have in fact downloaded and installed skype, please list your contact name here.
Thank You.
