Gentlemen,
I just exited a game that I was hosting and for that, I am most dreadfully sorry. I am not used to hosting that often and after I was demoralized by my General being shelled and my army running off, I didn't much feel like watching the rest of a battle that I was humiliated in...lol.
Often I like to watch even when I am gone/not involved any longer in the outcome. I just totally spaced it! For that gentlemen, I do apologize.

I am sure I am speaking for everyone when I say it happens to everyone:)
About the general shelling, it was only bounces up off the hill; nothing direct, sorry:)
I think the game is being called a French victory, as it seems two Allied generals had been beaten back, while all four French generals were still able to field sizable forces.
Next week; the End of the First Campaign!
Special thanks to [TIG] General Dury and OldGuard_Captain for filling in.
S!

I for one thought that it was one of those magical moments that should be carved into the annals of the GG, I laughed so hard forgive me, but that was just sooo funny.
I was also a little dissapointed by the shelling, which resulted in the loss of my General as well. Although with the fog of war it is difficult identify units and cav make for such tasty target. Maybe each unit should be allocated a Gen unit next campaign to lessen the chance of accidental shelling. Just a thought.
And now raise a glass to TRL for bringing a smile to all our faces.

Actually, I dont believe his general was killed by arty. I think he just came under fire. I could be wrong... The only two generals who ran into trouble were Salis', who was apparently shelled (which I missed) and Dury's I believe, whose general simply ran away for some unknown reason long before he got near combat:)
BTW, if anyone has a replay of what happened before that, I would love to see it. Dunno if you can get a replay on a dropped game, tho:(
Flips, I hope you are here Sunday! We've got to see the invaders off!

Ah, I missed it then; I was under the impression he was just hit by arty but not wacked out of his saddle (or out of his boots, not sure which your commander was.)
A quick question, tho; if a general is a regular unit, isn't there some way you can still fire on him with arty? After all, if your general is your best unit, it is silly to expect me not to try to pound that unit with artillery before facing it.
This isn't the appropriate thread for this discussion, probably, so maybe I'll start one in the MP forum.
