Please visit www.mthuff.clara.net/NTW/Fiddsbattle.vrp and view the film. The game was 4 attackers (French) v 3 defenders (Prooshans and British). My Prooshans are on the defenders right-flank. One of my better battles to-date (we didn't lose!) watch my double 8 pdr battery, and the huge enemy cavalry charge! I think I was attacked by 3 players, Zimoa, Dury and Falkon6. Rules for the fight were: 2 arty per side (I had 'em all) mandatory generals. I'd be most interested to hear views on the film.

No, I meant "Prooshan" as in "the Prooshan Bates" - from the book "Stalky and Co". (am a great fan of Rudyard Kipling) Glad you enjoyed the replay, was nearly a very nice left-hook by Zimoa. Nearly. hehe. I watched the replay, Fidd. That was interesting and quite a rout for the attackers. You did a great job of holding down your end of the line.
One thing I wondered as I watched the replay... after Zimoa's failed cavalry charge, the enemy in front of you was greatly weakened. Why didn't you advance against them...you could easily have routed them.

I suppose because my job was to defend, and I saw no reason to forsake a strong defensive position just to add a few scalps. Added to which, I had no cavalry of my own to exploit it, so I was content to remain as I was and shell targets of oppurtunity, useing my remaining troops just in case there was any enemy cavalry lurking behind the ridgeline to my front. (Remember during the game itself I couldn't see behind that ridge)
Where I think I was a bit slow was to pull back my musket armed troops and use the hill to better advantage with my nassau jagers to counter his jagers who were slwly and steadily attriting my musket troops.

Sounds interesting, I will check the replay out immediately. Maybe I'll earn a few things! S! El Matador EDIT: Hm, just curious... In what folder, exactly, must this file be placed? I used to remember, but of course, memory can sometimes kick me in the ass.

Mine is:
D:\Program Files\Total War\Medieval - Total War\SaveGames\Battles
But! Don't cut and paste this, as my path may be subtley different. Browse around looking for files with .vrp extention.

Found it. With my luck it seems like I checked just about every NTW folder except for that one. Cheers.
