My Resignation

I, SirDabrowski, hereby resign my commission within the Regiment of the Grenadier Guards. I don't do this because I am displeased with the regiment, angry, or trying to gain better position elsewhere. I'm doing it because the reasons why I joined this regiment are no longer here.

Von Dobeln and Ashram are the only 'semi-active' Grenadier Guardsman, other than myself. I've tried to restart the clan, but I fear the new round of recruiting will turn out like the last -- an abysmal failure.

I can not replace Salis, Tuncarl, Irish, ThinRedLine, AndrewKent, Buxford, or any of the other men who have came before me. They were, and will continue to be, the true 'Old Guard' of the NTW community and will ALWAYS be welcome, even in my own home. I miss you guys every time I read these forums and I miss all the old games we used to have.

I wish those remaining Grenadier Guardsmen good luck and God speed in their endeavors. I'm sorry I couldn't pull the GG through..

There's a guy on my MSN list with the name of 'Andrew'. He continually signs on. But it's not OUR Andrew, so it pisses me off everytime I highlight the name and see it's not his screen name.

I have been away travelling between SA and UK for the past 7/8 months. 3 weeks in the UK followed by 3 weeks in SA, its been insane.

Anyway, does this mean you are re-considering? Whats the low down now anyway? Is everyone still playing NTW1 or has there been a shift? I checked the forums for the first time the other night to see you resigning, the LGA have dissolved and a general air of pessimism?

Yeah, things are pretty much dead on the NTW front, I hate to say... people are busy with real life, and personally I just don't have the time... or I don't want to make it, I dont know:)

I am REALLY excited for Take Command: Napoleon tho, the new Lordz project... a SP game, which I love, and an AWESOME wargame:)

How is it by you guys? Bux, how is school man? And LGS, whats new with you?

I read a few of those Take Command posts over at the Lordz and I had a look at some screens, over all looks a different type of game, but fun nonetheless, more aimed at the true wargamer/strategist rather than the mixture that is NTW1, which attracts all sorts.

I am ok, thanks. My mom has been very ill and undergone surgery, so I have been back and forth to spend time in SA. Its been a turbulent time

Sorry I am not about much these days.

The game kinda got a bit stale for me. I still keep vaguely up to date with the lords and that Histwar game that one day may arrive.

Not played any NTW2 for ages and I have troubole going back to play NTW1 after having been spoilt with the graphics of NTW2/RTW/M2TW (yes I am shallow). But I am still a GG.

I will try to get on the forum a bit more guys

Tunc, you should definately give the Take Command game a try. I have it on good authority that the Nappy mod will be KICKASS.
